Rabat – Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita received on Thursday Belgium’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadja Lahbib, with the pair discussing means to strengthen the two nations’ bilateral relations.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the two ministers to express their commitment to boosting cooperation in several sectors, including the economy.
The pair also discussed several global and regional issues, including the war in Ukraine, and the crisis situations in Syria, Iran, and Palestine.
The meeting was marked by Lahbib announcing her country’s new position regarding the Western Sahara dispute. “Belgium considers the Autonomy Plan presented in 2007 a serious and credible effort and a good basis to reach” a long-lasting solution,” the Belgian FM said at a press conference following her meeting with Bourita.
